E-Sports: Tween/Teen Fall 2023 & Elementary Winter 2023
This is a brand-new program that will allow members to join an eSports team through the Boys & Girls Club! Members who join will build skills in competition, communication, teamwork, sportsmanship, adaptability. As a team, each member will be responsible for working with their fellow peers to grow not only their own skills but help foster them in others. The Teen/Middle School eSports teams will also occasionally coach our younger teams as a mentor program. The program will cap at 15 members and will require weekly grade checks with our Education Director to stay a team member.

Girls Who Code - Fall 2023
Girls Who Code is for 2nd-5th grade members where we create a community of girls who actively design, code, read and explore together. This program aims to ignite a girls’ interest in computer science, build sisterhood, and challenge them to be brave.

STEM Workshops - 2023/2024 School Year
Come and explore Science, Technology, Engineering & Math in an interactive and engaging environment in this partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley and Breakthrough San Juan Capistrano. This program takes place once a month during the school year.

Hour of Code - Fall 2023
Hour of Code is an open club that takes place 3 times a week in our technology lab. It will introduce the members to the basics of block coding using the scratch program. The members will get a chance to work on different projects that will focus on a specific aspect of coding at their own pace. Each member can work towards building their own project of their choosing or learning the basics using a coding program that flows easily into industry-standard programming. They will also be able to run coding programs through Minecraft EDU edition or other online games.

Stop Motion Film Makers - Fall 2023
Over this 10 week program, members will create a short stop motion film. Starting from sketches to a final project, members will learn about film editing, sound production, stop motion film history, and more.
