These programs are designed to address today's most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life. From programs featuring Leadership to College readiness, our club members are learning to be a well-rounded individual.

Keystone

Fridays 5:00 – 6:00pm. Year-round

Keystoning is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s most dynamic teen program. It affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. They conduct activities in four areas: academic success, career exploration, community service, and teen outreach.

Torch Club

Ages 10 – 13

Mondays 4:00 – 5:00pm. Year-round

Torch Clubs are chartered​ small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 10-13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness and social recreation. The Torch Club Awards are presented annually to Torch Clubs with outstanding programs and activities in the four areas. Each year, Torch Club members from all over the country take part in a service-learning experience through the National Torch Club Project.

Breakthrough Tutoring

Wednesdays & Thursdays 5:00 – 6:00pm. Year-round

Breakthrough is a program that is ran at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley. Breakthrough focuses on students that will be first generation college students and aides the students in the process going through school, getting good grades, and applying to college. Breakthrough starts at the middle school age and aides the students all throughout their four years of high school. Breakthrough meets at the club twice a week for tutoring and mentor-ship.

Date SMARTS

Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:00pm. Year-round

Date Smarts is a national program focused on providing a safe and supportive space for teens to discuss the different aspects of young relationships. The program objective for the next ten weeks is to help teens learn how to foster healthy and supportive relationships free of violence and abuse.

SMART Girls

Wednesdays 4:00 – 5:00pm. Year-round

SMART Girls is a program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups: 7-10, 11-12, and 13-18. Through dynamic sessions, these young women explore personal and social values as they collectively work towards building healthy life styles, positive self-worth, and healthy relationships.

Toastmasters

Every Friday we have two representatives from the Dana Harbor Toastmasters come to the Club and work with our members. Toastmasters is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills. This program is for our teens and middle schoolers. Each week about ten members get together with the toastmaster representatives and go over a series of drills, tasks, and responsibilities.

Creative Expressions

Creative Expressions is a new program that was introduced this fall. Creative expressions is a program that focuses on members emotional well-being. Through this program, staff talk about ways members can channel their emotions and redirect positively.

Come join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley Fall M.S Cooking Class! Whether you are an expert or beginner, all skill levels are encouraged to join. Learn basic skills, rules of the kitchen, technique, challenging new recipes and most of all, how to HAVE FUN!
