Club member Yaradset Rojas wins Orange County Youth of Year competition!

March 28, 2015, Garden Grove, CA   Selected among 14 outstanding youth, Yaradset (Yary) Rojas from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley has been named the Orange County Youth of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for her sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community. Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. As the new teen representative for all Boys & Girls Clubs in Orange County, Yary will receive $6,000 in scholarship funds from Disney!  Yary will move on to the State of California Youth of the Year competition to be held in April.

Yaradset Rojas is a Dana Point resident and graduating senior at Dana Hills High School, a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley beginning in the fourth grade.  Since then, she has participated in the following programs at the Club: Keystone, Toastmasters, Cooking Club, Soccer Club, and Yoga Club.  She was the President of the Keystone Club, a student run leadership program, for the 2013-2014 school year.  Yaradset is also active in her church, where she passes out food and personal hygiene products to families in need.   She is currently applying to colleges and aspires to be a veterinary technician.
