For over fifteen years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley (BGCCV) has been at the forefront of youth development in South Orange Count, including Aliso Viejo, Capistrano Beach, Dana Point, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano.
Our original founders, Tony Foster and Harry Finnegan helped to grow the organization from a 100-member Club in a portable bungalow to an organization that annually serves over 1,100 members in a facility that is now a true community asset!
It is a great accomplishment to have effectively guided area youth to reach their fullest potential in life. However, as the area grows, so too do the needs. While the current facility supports our existing membership base, we are unable to meet the needs of a growing population. In order to meet the needs we must develop additional
services and programs. We need your help.
Today a phenomenon will occur in Capistrano Valley as it does every school day. The closing bell will ring and roughly 51,500 local students will leave school. Some will go home to a parent, some will go to an after school program. But the majority will go it alone—and will enter the most dangerous time of the day. Research indicates that youth-related crime doubles between 3pm and 8pm every weekday. National statistics and daily headlines make it clear that unsupervised children are at risk in the after school hours.
Our youth face many challenges—violence, family dysfunction, glamorization of early sexual activity and the availability of drugs and alcohol. But they need not go it alone.
Your generous gift to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley allows your family to address the needs of the young people by providing a positive response to the growing challenges local kids face daily.
Thank you!
